Forest School Nature Camp at Blueberry Hill Farm, Sneem – A Summer of Outdoor Adventure

This summer, children aged 5 to 12 are invited to explore, play, and reconnect with the natural world at the Forest School Nature Camp at Blueberry Hill Farm, located just outside the picturesque village of Sneem. Run by Coille Mara Forest School, this camp offers a unique and enriching outdoor experience that blends learning, creativity, and adventure in a safe and inspiring woodland setting.

Taking place on selected dates throughout July and August, the camp is designed to give children a break from screens and structured indoor routines, allowing them to rediscover the joy of open-ended play in nature. Set on a family-run working farm with fields, forests, and gardens, the camp provides a rich natural environment where curiosity and imagination can flourish.

Each day is different, shaped by the children’s interests, the weather, and the natural rhythm of the land. Campers can look forward to nature crafts, storytelling around the fire, wildlife tracking, and getting hands-on with mud kitchens—a favourite activity where creativity gets as messy as it does fun! There are also hammocks strung between the trees for quiet time or gentle swinging, offering the perfect balance between excitement and calm.

One of the core elements of the camp is the opportunity to learn fire safety and basic outdoor skills. Under the guidance of experienced and qualified forest school leaders, children can safely learn how to build and manage a fire, cook simple snacks over the flames, and develop confidence in an outdoor environment. These moments build resilience, teamwork, and a real sense of achievement.

At its heart, Forest School is about more than outdoor play—it’s about fostering a deep and lasting connection with nature. Children are encouraged to explore freely, ask questions, solve problems, and use their imagination, all while building respect for the environment and each other.

The Forest School Nature Camp at Blueberry Hill Farm is open to children aged 5–12, and places are limited to ensure small group sizes and personal attention.
